Defining what makes a character interesting is often down to personal significance. One person may find something whereas someone else may find it boring. Narrowing this fine line is a key skill which needs to be developed in order to become a visually interesting artist. This project began with a simple creative writing excercise, noting down simple words but from a broad vocabulary to provide an expansive description of an object, place or person. From this selection of words we had to visualise and interpret our own image, which resulted in the following images. The first a short storyboard following the themes of nature versus man, influenced by the Plastic Beach album artwork.
The second being my interesting character, reffering to the film
Castaway, starring Tom Hanks the character Wilson empathised strongly with my environment and I felt a similar design would be appropriate.
